Semiautomatic Espresso & Coffee Brewing Control . The SL 70 is a semiautomatic espresso machine. This means you have complete control over the brewing process. The SL 70 features only three switches and a multifunction control knob. The first switch on the left side of the control panel is the main power control. The middle switch turns the pump on or off to control the flow of espresso. The third switch on the right side of the control panel is for activating the steam mode. Lights indicate when the boiler is at the proper temperature for either brewing espresso, dispensing instant hot water, or steaming. To start the flow of steam, simply turn the steam knob on the side of the machine. . Once the machine is at the proper brewing temperature, you are ready to begin brewing espresso.
